The Great Un-Valentine Cocktail

I've never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day. Mostly because it seemed like I never had a Valentine. Even when I was involved with someone, they tended to ignore the event entirely. (One of them regularly picked a fight about something right around Thanksgiving, and called to make up around the beginning of March, managing to skip Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day. The sad part is how long it took me to notice this trend.)

Anyway, even though I have a wonderfully romantic guy now, I still find it very easy to cast a cynical eye on Valentine's hoopla. That's probably why I enjoyed this cocktail "recommendation" from Bar None Drink Recipes.

Blue Ribbon Iced Tea

1 oz. vodka
1 oz. gin
1 oz. white rum
1 oz. white tequila
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
2 tbsp. fresh squeeze lemon juice
1 can Pabst Blue Ribbon beer
2 lemon wedges

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour the vodka, gin, rum, tequila, Triple Sec, and lemon juice into the shaker. Cover and shake vigorously to combine and chill. Pour the mixture, ice and all, into an oversized glass and top off with the entire PBR. Garnish with lemon wedges. Serve.

Why, you ask, would you serve anyone such a revolting concoction? This is why it's an Un-Valentine cocktail. Anyone you serve this to is going to be so offended/horrified that you would expect them to drink such swill that they're going to break up with you. Possibly even before the ice melts. Which saves you the trouble of breaking up with them.

Is that great or what?
